Fluorescence laser technology represents the next generation of
laser sorting. After years of fundamental research together with
the University of Brussels, BEST incorporates this technology
in our sorting machines.
Due to the fluorescence features of certain products, the
patented laser fluorescence technology gives an even better contrast
to detect color and texture differences. It creates a kind of black
and white contrast that results in a very high detection efficiency
and very little false reject.
Where can FLUO be used ?
This technology can be used to sort out products which do not
contain chlorophyll or differ in chlorophyll level with the good
products that contain chlorophyll: e.g. peas, green beans, spinach,
garden beans etc. The objects that do not contain chlorophyll (the
defects in other words) can be: stones, plastics, glass, wood, metal,
rotten spots etc.
This technology can also be used the other way round, to detect
chlorophyll containing objects or spots: e.g. the green spots on
potato products, green areas on carrot products, parts of leaves
in between products, leaves on fruits etc. The black/white (chlorophyll/no
chlorophyll) contrast that is created this way, results in a very
efficient detection and rejection.
